Path to Winword executable in Office 2000

Mike

I would appreciate it very much if someone could give me the default
installation path to the Office 2000 winword.exe file (OS is Windows XP). I
am trying to help someone sevaral thousand miles away with an application
that needs the path and I don't have Office 2000 myself to see exactly what
it is.
Thanks,
Mike

Mike:

Normally, Office would install in:

c:\program files\microsoft office\Office\WinWord.exe

However, users as you know can install it anywhere.

Hi Mike,

Have them search for Winword.exe. If you need them to verify the file,
have them right-click the file and select Properties. On the General
tab "Application" should display for Type of File.

When found ask them to right-click the file and select "Open
containing folder". If they are viewing the full path in the Address
bar they can copy/paste the path or read it to you.

To turn on the full path, in an Exploring window go to Tools/Folder
Options and on the View tab turn on "Display the full path in the
Address bar".
