pattern string is invalid

I am new access 2007 user (in fact have not used access for yrs- and was just
getting started) anyway I was going along in my table using search and then
all of a sudden could not search and recd message "the pattern string is
invalid". I am sure I must have messed up something but having a hard time
troubleshooting the issue.


HELP??????? PLEASE

Try going to your table in design view and check the types. You may have a
number listed where text needs to be or vice versa.
