Pattern the Overlapped Area of 2 Circles

B

Beth

I hope I can explain this clearly.... In Visio I have one large circle,
inside this circle there are two more circles which "overlap". What I'm
trying to do is make the pattern show ONLY where they overlap - the rest of
the circle area will show but not with a pattern. Is there a way to do this?

Thanks in advance for any help

Two ideas:

1. Use transparency. In the Format > Fill dialog, you can give a shape a
very faint fill by setting the transparency to, say 75%. Where the shapes
overlap, the color will be darker. Close to what you want, but not exact.
2. Use Fragment. This will destroy your original shapes, but looks good!
Select both circles. Then choose Shape > Operations > Fragment. You'll get
two "moon shapes" and a "football". You can color the individual shapes any
way you want!
