PC/MAC Pivot table compatibility

I have a PC and have created an excel spreadsheet with 5 pivot tables. When I
send it to someone with a MAC, they cannot "refresh" the data. If you go to
Pivot table under Data, in the PC it has saved all the information, but in
the Mac version, it starts out at Step 1. Is there a way I can build my pivot
tables so they will work in a MAC?
