PC to MAC and vice versa

Dan

I use Office 2003 (on a PC with XP Pro) and Office v.X (on
an Apple iBook laptop running 10.3.2). I am having the
following problems when going from the PC to the MAC or
vice versa using PPT:

1. Bullets change character (due to lack of a font on
either computer?)

2. Boxes I create change position and therefore are
mis-aligned on either format requiring much time to correct.

Is there any easy way to make these presentations more
compatible? Or will a future MAC office version attempt to
correct this? Thanks in advance.

1. Bullets change character (due to lack of a font on
either computer?)

Probably so. Choose Format, Replace fonts from the main menu bar. The
upper listbox shows you what fonts the presentation needs. On the PC, fonts
that are needed but not installe will have a "?" icon next to them. I think
you're kind of on your own on the Mac versions. Write down the names of
needed fonts, then check to see what fonts are available on the formatting
toolbar, for example.
2. Boxes I create change position and therefore are
mis-aligned on either format requiring much time to correct.

Do the boxes contain text? They might be set to auto adjust their size to
fit text, in which case if there's a font missing, PPT will substitute a
different font, making the text size change, and in turn the box size
changes.

In both cases, it's a matter of choosing fonts that are present on both
computers.
