PC to MAC conversion strange dialog box appears.

Gilles Desjardins

We need your help everyone out there. We are working with Word 2003 (PC) and
need to transfer this information to a Mac (version unknown). Our PC
document causes a dialog box to appear and we cannot go any further.

The dialog box's title reads: Data Merge Manager. We do not think that we
have links in our original document.
All the field in the dialog box are grey, not accessible. If you like I
could post the image but this is frowned upon in an NG.

Any help, comments would be appreciated.

Regards, Gilles Desjardins in Montreal, Canada

From the Word 2003 Help:

Help
Assistance > Word 2003 > Mass Mailings > Mail Merge

Restore a mail merge main document to a regular document

By removing the associated data source from a main document you can
convert it to a regular document.

1. Open the main document from which you want to remove the data source.
2. On the View menu, point to Toolbars, and then click Mail Merge.
3. Click Main Document Setup.
4. Click Normal Word document.

John you hit the nail bang on the head. Thank you for your help. I owe you a
beer or wine. Maybe some day I will travel down under and visit Sidney.

Hi Gilles:

John you hit the nail bang on the head. Thank you for your help. I owe you a
beer or wine. Maybe some day I will travel down under and visit Sidney.

I should hope you will visit us. There is a fully functional liquor shop on
the ground floor of this building. And you can carry me back upstairs later
:)

Cheers
