PC Vista Ultimate SP1 MS-Update thinks it's a MAC?

Symptom occurs both executing Office Update and generic attempt to upgrade to
Microsoft Update, vice Windows Update. Running Vist Ultimate-32 SP-1, on
Compaq laptop: AMD Turion 64 ML-32 1.80GHz, 2Gig RAM. When attempting to
upgrade to Microsoft Update, system is interpreted as an Apple/MAC OS.
