PCL WL Error in Access only all other applications work

I run Access 2003 Windows XP and have a HP Color LaserJet 3500. One year ago
I had to install a Beta Driver to make the printer work. Recently I upgraded
memory from 256 to 512. My printer stopped to print. I got that resolved
however this is the good stuff. Documents in Access will not print correctly.
The work around is that I set the default printer in Windows to be Document
Image writer. I then go to file print in Access and manually change the
printer to the correct driver and it prints. However, if the 3500 is set as
the default printer it gives me a PCL SL error ? Kernel?ColorSpaceMismatch.
That error message prints out. HP support has no idea why. They think it is
an MS problem. Any ideas. I'm about ready to pull some hair out.
