PCL XL Error printing from Office 2007

Vista 64-bit SP1 on HP IQ504 (TouchSmart) printing to CM1312nfi MFP

Any attempt to print in color from Office 2007 and IE 7 applications (or
Adobe 9) results in the following error:

PCL XL error
Subsystem: KERNEL
Error: IllegalOperatorSequence
Operator: EndSession
Position: 15

Changing print preferences to Grayscale enables printing.
Printing in color is possible from other applications (e.g. Paint) and Test
Page prints in color.

I have downloaded all current drivers and tried all support alternatives
from HP. The issue seems isolated to Office 2007 and IE applications.

Has anyone experienced this or explain how the problem is reported as a bug?

I was on the phone with tech support for hours today trying to find a fix, they told me to contact Microsoft. Although you did just help me out, I though it wouldn't print at all in MS Word, I just tried a print by changing it to B&W and it worked. So thanks for that. Have you found a fix yet?

To whom are you talking and about what?
The "forum" that you are posting in leaches off the Microsoft News servers
in order to make it look far busier than it really is. Everyone who uses the
MS News servers sees your post on it's own - we have NO IDEA what you are
talking about and to whom you are talking.

If you MUST continue to post in this "forum" then please at least quote the
post you are replying to, and do NOT change the subject line.

You would be far better off however, using a news reader and subscribing to
these news groups direct.

Ken's responding to a post from "rakilgore", quoted below.

FWIW, I'm able to see it, properly threaded in my newsreader (VA) from
msnews.microsoft.com.

I wonder if you're not seeing it threaded properly because Ken's changed the
subject?

That's the whole point - you DIDN'T quote it.

I did. Try re-reading my reply. Or if that's too troublesome, here:
