Hi,
When 2007 came out I downloaded the PDF add-in converter. It has worked fine
since then but now it works in all other MS programs EXCEPT Publisher???
It worked before but not now. I downloaded the add-in once again , shut
down/restart...no help. I went back to previous documents that converted
before and tried to do them once again... nope, wouldn't work!

This problem only lies within Publisher....any ideas? Thank you for your
help.

Thanks JoAnn,
I click on File
click on Publish as a PDF or XPS
the File window opens/appears and click on the "Publish" button on the
bottom of the window.
It then acts as if it wants to work then a new window pops up and says
Publisher cannot save this file.

If I try to do it again...it asks if I want to replace the previous files
(saved as the same name) and I'll click "yes" and it once again says
Publisher cannot save this file.
I then look to see if the file actually was saved - since it asked if I
wanted to replace it - and nothing is there.

Thank you

What happens if you *Save as PDF* and leave the XPS out of the equation?

There was an earlier post where a user was having a similar issue. He
finally discovered a corrupt page or object by converting page by page to
PDF. Is this occurring in all publications?

Mary Thanks,
Yes I went back some items I had previously created in Publisher (and
previously converted to PDF's) and tried them today. They no longer will
convert to PDF's???
It use to work but doesn't seem to want to work now. It does work in other
MS programs like Excel and Word - but now, for some reason not in Publisher.
Thank you

Try a different converter. www.primopdf.com has been mentioned here, it is
free. There are many others.

======================================
Maybe these steps will help:

Open your project in Publisher and go to...File / Print.

On your Print screen...open the drop window and
select 'PrimoPDF' as your printer.

Click...Print...now you will see the PrimoPDF screen
and you can browse to a save folder.

When you click...Create PDF..your .pdf file will be
created in your save folder.

The resulting .pdf file can be viewed on any computer
that has the free Adobe Reader installed.

Thank you to all who helped.
I figured it out.
Primo did not work either.
I even bought Adobe 9 Pro...and it did not work either. (I needed it anyhow)
MS must have changed some things in the program with one of its downloads. I
had been using a template that I created a year ago. It worked fine until
just recently.
Out of shear frustration tried a blank page - it converted to a pdf - OK
that was good.
I then slowly recreated my template from scratch and it now works as well.
Going back and trying an older document or template- no go, no workie.
New documents and new templates - works everytime. (even without Adobe 9.0)

so I guess MS changed something and you need to work from a new blank cause
it sure doesn't like the old way.

Thanks -- The root of the problem is when running Print Checking Tool and it
asks to change to something other than RBG Color...thats the trigger that
kills the pdf converter... keep it on RBG and it works fine.

Glad you solved your problem. Just wanted to chime in and say that I
installed Publisher 2002 on my new computer with Vista 64, and I still
use PrimoPDF to convert my documents, and it all works fine for me.
[Fingers crossed!]
