When you convert from pdf to Word, will you be able to
edit the text or do you have to import as a picture?

Unless you have the full version of Acrobat, you cannot 'convert' from PDF
to Word (or any other Off ice application) nor can you import PDF files into
Office. Conversion simply means selecting the text and pasting - however
this, obviously, will /not/ work if the document is scanned.

I purchased a pdf converter, but am having difficulties
since I am not the originator of the pdf document. Is
there any way that a pdf document can be changed to be
non-encrypted?

Thanks.

Ther ARE PDF to Word converters available and the resulting Word file
IS a word file. Any diagrams, pictures, etc., are inserted as
pictures.

Ideas:

1. ask the person who created the file for the password.
2. ask the folks at www.adobe.com (they have a forum)
3. search Google for "password cracker adobe pdf"

The intention of passwords on PDF files is to protect against just
exactly what you are trying to do. I'm sure there are ways around this
security (or at least have heard there are, but it is not in compliance
with what the originator intended. That's why you should contact them.

Hope this is useful to you. Let us know.
