PDF file loses task names

I have a heavy Project user (version 2003) who is using Adobe Professional 8
and when he converts his Gantt charts to a PDF file, it loses all the task
names after #353 up through task #369. Then the task names appear again. The
project timeline bars still show, but none of the task names in that gap.

Is this a limitation, or just a problem we need to figure out how to fix?

The PDF file is 5 pages long.

Hi,

This isn't a known bug. If you collapse a summary task before #300 does the
hidden text remain or is a different range hidden?

If you summarize #353 to #369 and collapse the summary so those tasks are
completely hidden do other tasks lose their text?

If you have another pdf printer available, doe it do this?

Does another computer using Adobe 8.0 have the same problem on the same
file?

Does the same thing happen with adobe 7.0?

I don't have an answer, so unless someone else does, can you experiment to
provide a few more clues? It will be good to see if the problem is
associated with just those tasks or moves, or is associated with Adobe 8.0

Rod,
Thanks for the tips. Here is what I have now for information:

The project has 399 tasks. I opened the project file on another machine,
using Adobe 7 and published it again. Same result with missing task names,
although I did notice this:

Tasks #78-92 - task name disappears, but Gantt bars remain
Tasks #170-184 (same as above)
Tasks #262-276 (same as above)
Tasks #354-368 (same as above)

Difference between each "set" = 14 tasks missing across the board. (92-78=14)
78 tasks between last and next visible (170-92=78)

That was done using the "Convert to PDF" button on my toolbar.

When I used the "Views and Reports" option within Project and told it to
print multiple (all) pages and then sent it to a PDF printer, I got this
result:

Tasks that do not display:
#86-101 (15 tasks)
#187-202 (15 tasks)
#288-303 (15 tasks)
#389-399 (10 tasks, but if there had been five more tasks in the project, I
bet it would have been 15)

Difference between each "set" = 86 tasks

Totally perplexing, but it seems like the software can only handle
publishing 78-86 tasks at a time? Does this make any sense at all?
