pdf file won't open in word anymore

I have a pdf file saved which I have been able to open in Microsoft Office
Word 2007 until a couple of days ago. I have also downloaded a lot of pdf
files, but cannot open them in word either. If I open Adobe and then the
files they work ok, but I was just wondering why I can not longer access them
through Word.

Word has never in any version been able to open PDF files. You need Adobe
Reader to open PDF format files.
Word 2007 can *save* in PDF format if you install the relevant add-in.

I've been receiving pdf newsletters and they opened in Mozilla just fine. They don't any longer. I have a Windows, 64 bit pc. I've tried opening Adobe first, but it still doesn't work. Even tried to open the ones in the recycle bin that worked fine, but they won't either.

As noted, you cannot open PDF files in Word. If you're trying to open them
directly in your browser, then one of two things will happen: you'll get a
browser window with PDF controls, or Adobe Reader will open. Which happens
depends on a setting in your browser or in Reader, I imagine (I know there's
a setting in Adobe Acrobat for that).
