pdf files from hyperlink

I have an action button with a hyperlink to a file on my computer. During
the slide show, I click the action button and the file opens but then
immediately closes. Do I have to set timing on this to get the pdf file to
stay open until I close it? I am using PowerPoint 2003. Thank you.

Thank you, Steve. I did search the database and found the thread about the
problem with Reader 7. I loaded the updates but then the pdf file would open
only either behind the running slide show or in a minimized window. I opened
the file in Acrobat 5, zoomed the view to 50%, changed the open options to
resize window to initial page, center window on screen, page layout to single
page, hid toolbar, and hid window contols and then saved the file. I fixed
the action button and the pdf file now opens in a maximized screen in front
of the slide show. Thank you again for your help.
