pdf forms

Jay,

It's pretty much a one-way street in the other direction,
that is, you can feed a Word file to Acrobat, but not vice
versa. With the full version of Acrobat (not the free
reader), you can select *linear* text in the PDF -- one
line at a time -- and copy it into another app (like Word)
but IMHO anyone with *that* kind of patience needs to be
opened up and patented....

The only other possibility is to OCR-scan the PDF file,
if its resolution is high enough and the scanning software
is good enough. Again, not a fun way to pass the time.
Bottom line: one of the main reasons PDFing exists is to
*prevent* you from gaining electronic access to the text
itself.

I also just noticed there's a command built into Acrobat that
saves the curernt document -- granted, not always with pleasing
line-breaks -- to an RTF file (which Word can read). You click
File-> Batch Processing-> Save All As RTF.
