PDF import filter

I just wonder why there is no PDF import filter within Word. Microsoft
obviously is not interested into it. But why is there no third party filter
available. Is there not enough demand or are some legal arguments against
it?

Hi Michael,

There are 3rd party converters for PDF to Word document including the Word add-in from http://nuance.com. Adobe is working on an
XML based PDF representation format which should make things rather interesting for 'converting' once finished.

Bob, thank you for your quick response.

The Nuance product obviously converts PDF documents into Word. I would like
to place a graphic art on a Word page, like you place a Tif or JEPG in a
document. Do you think the Adobe tool will accomplish that? Do you know a
timeline?
