Is there any way to change a pdf document to a word
document. The problem - I have a 900+ page document to
extract data, some of the pages are formatted as tables.
TIA

Or...you could save the pdf to an .rtf file. You loose a lot of formatting, but at least you won't have to buy other software. Besides, rescanning is pretty time consuming and your formatting isn't necessarily going to come through with OmniPro.

In what program do you propose to "save the pdf to an .rtf file"? Can you
explain your procedure?

PDF Converter has nothing to do with scanning or OmniPage Pro (not
"OmniPro") other than that both programs are published by ScanSoft. The
converter reads the pdf file and outputs to Word. In my tests, it did pretty
well, even with complex scientific papers that include tables and equations.

The full Acrobat program (since 5.0) allows exporting PDF text to RTF or TXT
files.
