Yeah, nice guess
I wondered if he meant PHP
If he did, then what
you say would explain the problem
What is probably happening is that he's opening the page, it finds the
FireFox browser is on a Mac, and returns nothing.
A PHP page is usually a database query: you usually have to provide some
parameters with the URL before the database will give you any data.
Cheers
Hello,
I have understand you have some files, that have extension php (rather
than phd - this is academic title). PHP is programing language used
for creatinting dynamic webpages.PHP is used on server-side, as far as
I'm concern on PC you need either to have application which will
translate the script such as Easy PHP or let put the scripted page on
server which will trnaslate it for users (the latter - because this
happens on server side this is true for PC win/linux as for Mac).
*.asp file are M$ alternative to php programming.
Whreas PDF stands for portable document file. The format was made by
Adobe and was intended to make the cross platform sharing
problemless.
PHP (ASP) and PDF are completely different files. PHP used for
scripting for webpages whereas PDF can be read for example by Preview.
Word cannot read PDF files, you need either to get another SW to do
the conversion or use OCR.
You should be able to open PHP codes in any text editor - but you will
see the code (script) not the result. To give you some idea for what
PHP is used - it can define that if the user clicks on this menu it
will load certain text, other common application is forms on web - the
forms whwere you can enter your addres and some comments and you just
clik on SEND - than invisibly PHP comes into place and send your text
to desired email addres.
Hope this will help you to understand.
