Peculiar workings table borders

Hello

OK this is a bit spooky

I have which I have been working on for some time. Today, when I
inserted columns or rows into the table, the new cells have borders
with an arrowheads at the end (RHS/bottom). These are tables are
created in ppt, not word.

I try the same thing on another document, and it does not misbahave.

Its like the default has been set to creat arrowheads.
