Not sure how many people have noticed this, but
I found out this evening that Entourage 2008 exhibits
some peculiar behavior when using the Command+N
key to create new items in Calendar view.
Specifically, if you have your To-Do list displayed in
Calendar view, and have the focus set on the to-do list
(i.e., you have one or more tasks in the list selected,
or you've just clicked somewhere on the To-Do list),
pressing Command+N will open up a new task,
despite the fact that you are in Calendar view.
However, if you click somewhere on the calendar itself,
or have just created a calendar appointment, and then
press the same Command+N, you will get a new
appointment, not a new task.
Same view, same keystroke, different behavior.
It's very subtle, but it can throw you off if you're working
frequently in Calendar view as I do.
On a similar topic - how many of you really, really miss
being able to drag and drop tasks from the to-do list
into the Calendar to create a new appointment?
That functionality is available in Outlook, but it has been
missing from Entourage since 2004.
