The best way to do this is to establish, for each task, what work or
deliverables each task composes. The best way to do this is to create an
export map and save the task data to an Access database, using the task
UniqueID as a key. Then build another table that holds what each task
encompasses. For example, if a design task involves the delivery of 50
engineering drawings, then the delivery of each drawing would represent
another 2% complete. This is the correct way to implement Earned Vale
Management (EVM). In other words, each task must be defined at a lower level
such that %Complete means something.
