No, your advise is not valid. They are using terminal
services to connect so they should NOT move the front-end
to the local pc in this case. The front end should be on
the server seperate from the back end which is also on the
server. Additionally, you may want to try setting up a
seperate front end on the server for each user.

Secondly, moving to SQL or Oracle may make data access
faster but I do not see how it is not going to make any
difference in your development.
