Performance

I have a Front End/Back End database with the FE local and
the BE on a server. I have used this model many times &
performance is generally ok, not startling but OK.
One database, with approx 78000 records (not large
compared to others which perform OK) seems to want to
dawdle somewhat. It takes forever to do some simple tasks,
even tasks not involving links to larger tables.
I do not have much hair left to pull out & I have checked
the standard things
All suggestions on where to look would be appreciated,
including things you may think obvious.
BTW Even relocating the BE onto the same computer does not
markedly lift performance so I do not think it is network
related
TIA

Forget this post. I saw a link in another query to Tony
Tews site. Two items worked like a dream
1. Sub datasheet name property - I had three set to Auto.
Fixing this improved the speed
2. Antivirus software - I turned off scanning for MDB
files and WOW!!!! Forms that took 20 secs to open are now
opening in under a second POW
Thanks Tony
