Permanent removal of gridlines

Does anyone know if there's a way of defaulting gridlines
to be off of every book created? In Tools, Options, it's
just for the current sheet.

Create a new wb with the formatting you want. Save As book.xlt (template) in
XLStart, replacing the wb by that name already there. That becomes you new
default wb. Create another in a similar manner and save as sheet.xlt in the
same directory. When you add a ws to an existing wb, it will have the
formatting you established.
