Permanently Change Cell Size in Tables

J

J Lo

Hi,

I prefer my tables to have a wide cell size (like in Word
Perfect). I have found out how to create a table and
then go into the options to change the cell size for that
table, but is there a way to customize Word so that the
default cell margins are wider all the time?

Thanks,

J Lo

You could try inserting a table of the desired dimensions in the Normal
template. This would affect any new documents created from it, but would not
affect existing documents. To activate a change in the Normal template, you
must close Word and restart it.

Hi there,

If I do this in my normal template, won't a table
automatically show up in every new page that I load?

Thanks,

Janis

J Lo,

This is not tested as I don't want to monkey with my default table settings.

When you use Table>Insert>Table, the Insert Table dialog box will display a
table style. If you modify that stlye (i.e., set you preferred cell
margins) then all future tables using that style should keep the margins you
set.
