Permanently Disable a Link

If you know which cell the link is in, then in any version of Excel you can select the cell, then
do F2 then F9 and hit enter

If you don't know where it is, then in Excel 2002 you can use Edit / Links / Break Link

In any previous version, If you don't know where it is then download Bill Manville's free addin
