Permanently hiding gridlines

I have hidden the gridlines on the table and saved the document, but when I reopen the document, I can see the gridlines again. Is there a way to hide the gridlines so that they are not viewable when the document is reopened?

Display of gridlines is an environment setting. If the window from which you
open a document has gridlines displayed, they will be displayed in the
document you open. See http://home.zebra.net/~sbarnhill/HideGridlines.htm
and http://www.mvps.org/word/FAQs/General/SaveViewAndZoom.htm
