I have a situation where I have an .MDB from a customer that gives me
the classic "you do not have permission to open xxx.mdb. please have
your system administrator.... etc" error message when I try to open it.
I used Access 97 to try and open it. The database was created with Access
97.
I have full admin permissions when I try to open it.
From what I've read in a few similar posts, I got the feeling that database
is lost to the world forever, but would like to verify this before I break
the bad news to my customer. This database has been mothballed for
3 years, I am not the original author, I don't know how the security
was set up or anything. It is impossible to find out since all the machines
have been replaced. (system.mdw is gone) The only thing I might be
able to find out is the user name of who worked on it last.
If anyone has any suggestions, it would be really helpful!
