I have two computers both using Windows XP. One has Office 2003 and the
other Office 2007. The one with Office 2003 has an Exchange Account set up
in Outlook. I exported the Contacts from that in four different formats:
1) .CSV (Windows)
2) .CSV (Dos)
3) Access (.mdb) file
4) .pst file
If I attempt to import the Contacts into OL 2007 on the other machine, OL
will crash, give me the option to send the info to Microsoft, and restart.
The ONLY way that I can see the Contacts is to open the .pst file that I
created. When I click on the "Contacts" tab, I see "Contacts" and "Contacts
within Contacts." I tried copying the Contacts from the opened .pst file,
but when I attempt to paste them in "Contacts," I get an error message that I
don't have the permission to do this.
I am using a computer on a domain and my rights are somewhat restrictive. I
don't know if that has anything to do with it.
The other issue is that, after setting up my account on the machine with OL
2007, I go to click on "New" for a new message and I get the following:
You don't have appropriate permission to perform this operation!!!
I have never had this problem in OL. I'd greatly appreciate it if someone
would please shed some light on these permission issues. Thank you.
