Permission setting for form library

Naveena

I have a question regarding the info path forms.
I am working on application in which users submit their
reports to their managers.I was goign through one of the
examples on msdn which integrates infopath with share
point services.
In my application i want the forms to be saved or
protected in such a way that for eg. i submit a report to
my manager,it can be only viewed and edited by me, and
only viewed by manager, rest dont have permisions on my
reports. Is it possible to have this kind of access
permissions using infopath and share point
Thanks
Naveena

Sorry for the delay on an answer. In order for users to open and save forms
to SharePoint, I believe they have to have access to the library. If you
want to limit access, you should email the form to your manager, and let
them save it to someplace only they have permissions to access.

You can find some other clever cases to use Roles and View Switching to
validate the user who filled in the form first (and their manager), but
these are not security feature, and the XML can still be opened by anyone.

SharePoint lists (not form or document libraries) can have a permission
model like this. You can store InfoPath forms as attachments to a list item.
