I want to use the capability in Project Server 2007 to route documents to
Executives for approval (e.g. project phase sign-off/approval documents).
This allows electronic routing and approval via e-mail instead of our
existing paper snail-mail sign-off sheet process.
To guard against unintentioned changes, the Executives have 'Read-Only'
access to all projects, since they don't use Project Server much, except to
view status information. They have no need to be able to add or edit
documents or lists. However, it seems a user must have Collaborate or Team
Member permissions in order to be able to approve a workflow routed document.
Is there any way around this, so they can participate in document approval
using the standard built-in workflows without having to give them permissions
to (potentially mess-up) any other items in the workspace?
I don't want to have to rely on customizing permissions for each document
they need to approve.
Thank you for any advice you can provide.
