Permissions Error when adding resource OL2002

Hi everyone,

I have followed the instructions from the website
http://www.slipstick.com/calendar/skedresource.htm#ol2000
on creating a resource in Outlook 2002.

The administrator has the delegate account and is
responsible for processing all calendar requests for that
resource.

However, I get a permissions error every time an ordinary
user tries to request this resource for their meeting.
The default permission for the resource calendar was
originally author so I reset it to editor and I still get
"You marked "Video Conferencing" as a resource. You cannot
schedule a meeting with "Video Conferencing" because you
do not have permission for that account. Either enter the
name as requested or optional attendee or talk to your
administrator about giving you permission to schedule
"Video Conferencing".

I thought it might have had something to do with the
Slipstick recommendation to prevent groups from emailing
the mailbox but allowing this again has not fixed the
problem.

I have noticed however, that I can schedule the resource
so I know it is a permission problem because I have
administrator permission on everyone's mailbox.

The permissions work fine if the user just goes to file
and "open other user's folder" but they don't work if they
try listing the item as a resource in the scheduling tab
of their calendar.

Any thoughts on this much appreciated.

Thanks,
Anna

I think you get the permissions error when you put the
resource in the 'Resource' field of the meeting request
because in Outlook2002 the Resources are designed to be
booked automatically. But that requires Author permission
for everyone on the resource calendar.
I think that if you put the resource in the 'Required'
field, you will be able to book it as a normal user.
Perhaps try to make a profile for the resource and put a
checkmark in 'Send meeting request only to my
delegate ,not to me' in the Tools, Options, Delegates tab.
Best regards
Lotte
