Permissions for Booking Type change?

Is it possible to configure MS Project Server 2007 so that only one specific
user can set the Booking Type to Commited?

We want all Project Managers to set the Booking Type to Proposed and have
only an authorised resource manager set the Booking Type to Commited.

If it can't be done through configuration options, what is the best way to
make a customisation to support this feature? (I'm a developer with some
Sharepoint dev experience).

No, there is no default way via a permission to limit who can specify the
Booking type for resources in a project. I'm not even sure it could be done
via customization. To know for sure, you might want to repost this message
in the microsoft.public.project.developer newsgroup, and allow our developer
friends to offer an opinion. Hope this helps.

Hi Gary,

we did it for a customer using code on Project Professional. The code stores
the BT for each resource at project open and, if the user is not in the right
security group, restore those values before saving the project back to
project server.

Fabrizio.
