Permissions Issue

Hi

I am running an Access 2000 database on my LAN. I have to send the database
to a third party and upon receipt and opening the file they are receiving the
following error "You do not have the necessary permissions to use the
c:test.mdb object. Have your system administrator or the person who created
this object establish the appropriate permissions.

Kindly advice on how I can allow the third party access to the database.

Thanks

Other things being equal, you can give an Access MDB that you created to
someone else and they can use it.

If you emailed it, it may have been tagged as unsafe to use. Have them
right-click the file and look at its Properties. Sometimes the shortcut
contains a way for them to enable the file.

Otherwise, they may need to move the MDB file into a folder where they have
permission to work. (Typically this is needed only if they are not logged
into their computer as an adminstrator.)

Does your MDB contain any linked tables? If so, just sending them your MDB
does not send them the actual data, and they may then be stuck.

Did you use Access security? If so, they will need the MDW file with user
name and password.
