Can someone tell me if/how I can open a .pab file, using
something other than Outlook or Exchange, so that I can
look at the e-mail addresses and copy and paste them into
another address book like AOL, Juno, or Hot Mail?

Word used to be able to open it, but I havent tried it on the latest versions of Office. Be sure to use File | Save As right away to save under a different file name.
