Personal Folder error

My main personal folder is now 1.96 GB on Outlook 2001 for Mac. It
became corrupted when it was open over-night.
The Microsoft knowledge base suggests transferring the file to
Windows, using a utility to crop it and tranfer it back. When I did it I
lost 6 month of highly valuable data, and all folders lost their names
and location. Very poor solution.

Does anybody have a solution to re-create the corrupted file?

I'm still looking too!

What's odd is this so called "corrupt" file did not change in file
size. So I don't see how it could be corrupt except for the fact that
MS doesn't know how to write software. I ran the pstscan.exe software
on the Windoze box. It took 30 minutes to run. I opened the "fixed"
file and it was empty! And yet the file size remains the same. 450
MB.

The same thing happened to a powerpoint file last year. I lost 2 weeks
worth of work (working 12 hrs a day x 14 days). I closed the file
and then opened it a minute later and it had become corrupt.
