Personal Folders is gone after Account delete!

Outlook 2007
I no longer have a Personal Folders option under Mail Folders after I
deleted a User Account. What to do?

Here's the background:
- I had been using Outlook with an Exchange account and all was fine.

- I added a POP account and mail from tath account was going into the
Personal Folders Inbox just fine, as expected.

- I no longer needed my Exhange account when I changed jobs, so I deleted
it. But when that also caused my Personal Folders to all go away, and my POP
account Inbox in now in Archive Folders. In fact I have no Personal Folders
option.

- When I go into Data FIle Mgmt, it's not an option. When I set up a new
account or try to redirect my POP account to it, it's not an option...I only
have the Archive Folder.

- Outlook.ost is still there, but not Outlook.pst. I tried some freeware OST
to PST conversion tool but I think it won't work with 2007.

If I'm understanding you correctly, when you create a new account for
yourself, configure the server settings, and point it to your existing
pst file (I assume you still have it), all will be fine.

I suspect that by deleting the Exchange account, you deleted the OST
(offline folder file) that was being used as the delivery location. You've
screwed yourself.

I tried creating a new account hoping Outlook would sort of rebuild the
missing file and folder structure, but new account are put in the Archive
Folders PST. The Outlook OST is there (an l very large so I know my data is
in it),

Is there any way to get that OST file converted into a PST in 2007, any tools?

Commercial ones, yes. Google "ost to pst" or "ost2pst".

Not if the OP were using an Exchange mailbox as the delivery location and
the presence of the Exchange account and the dissappearance of the folders
when that account was deleted indicates that may have been the case.
