Personal Folders role in Outlook 2007

I love Outlook but for some reason, I added my MSN and Hotmail accounts but I
can't use the “reminder†features in my MSN or Hotmail calendars and I can't
get an email notification “envelope†in the taskbar as in Outlook Express or
other Outlook versions?

Is the default "Personal Folders" merely an offline parking lot for mail,
calendars etc or can it be synchronized with my MSN and Hotmail folders?

Reminders work only in the default folders and Hotmail folders can never be
the default folders unless you are using Outlook Live and Hotmail Premium.

The default folders are what Outlook uses when you add a calendar entry, a
new task, a new contact, send a message, etc. I don't know of any way to
synchronize the folders except by manually copying the data.
