At work, my computer "times out" when not being used for a while, and
a security screen takes over. This is not unusual. What is unusual is
that when I "start" it back up the first thing on the screen is the
Excel VBE with a particular module open, always the same one. This
module is in a workbook called PERSONAL.XLSB, which I did not know I
had. The PERSONAL.XLS, which I knew I had is also there. The .XLSB
file is identical to the .XLS file except for one module that I
apparently added some time back and that is the module that opens when
I "start" up. The other thing I have noticed is that when I record a
macro and chose to store it in my personal macro book, that makes it
go to the .XLS file and not .XLSB. Why does that module always open
like that? And what is the difference between .XLS and .XLSB? Any
insights.
