I want to make and use a personalized tool bar at the top of all my documents so that I do not have to pull down any menus. This is what I have done in Word (pc version) for years. I can't seem to be able to do that in the MAC environment. Do you know how to do this?

Like the one I have at the top of my Word 2008 documents?

Did you try right-clicking the toolbar area and choosing "Customise..."?
Office 2008 is very right-click-centric. If in doubt, try right-clicking --
a whole new world will open up.

It should be fairly obvious from there: click "New" to create a new one...

Cheers
