personal.xls

It is my understanding that any subroutine saved in 'personal.xls'
will be accessible to all open workbooks. Does that also apply to
functions as well?

I have several recorded macros in the 'personal.xls' workbook and am
able to exceture them via shortcut keys from any other workbook,
however functions I manually define in the VB editior don't seem to be
accessible outside 'personal.xls'.

Is there some whay I can make functions globally available to all open
workbooks?

I stopped using PERSONAL.XLS years ago. I don't even remember all of
the exact reasons why. I decided to go with an add-in instead, since
it is specifically for saving macros/subroutines/functions. This site

There is nothing inherently special about "Personal.xls". It is just a
standard WB that is hidden by default and normally resides in your XLSTART
folder so it opened along with Excel.
As such, the same rules apply to accessing its routine as with any other
workbook.

As others have pointed, an add-in is different which may be what you are
after.
