Personalise group email (hide others)

Hi, this is more of a query than a problem. I want to create a list
of
people and send them out an email as though sending it to them
personally. I don't want them to see a whole list of other
recipients.
I'm not sure what this is called whether it is a type of mail merge
or
a kind of distribution list. Can anyone help? Thanks

In the Address Book, each mailing group (distribution list) has a check box
for "Don't show addresses when sending to group." Recipients won't see any
addresses (including their own).

Will that work? It's not quite as personal as you specified.
