I figured I should just start a new post and go from the
beginning of the problem I'm having.
I work for a university and we have Project 2002 as part
of our software build. We use Ghost 7.5 as our management
software. A few days ago a student came into our academic
lab looking for the PERT Analysis toolbar on our lab
machines. Since other students in this same class need to
use PERT Analysis, we decided to make it part of our
build. I logged into a machine with that same build in
order to look at Project and see if I could find PERT
Analysis. When logged in as the administrator, PERT
Analysis is available in view/toolbars. I imported the
registry information from the local admin account into the
test profile that I use for such things. This did not
make the view/toolbars toolbar the same as the admin. I
also copied the GLOBAL.MPT from the admin profile to both
all users and to the test profile, still not there. I
then changed permissions on the Project install folder in
Program Files to allow users to copy and take ownership of
the GLOBAL.MPT stored there, because when I opened that
one directly, all the tool bars I needed were present.
This still did not work. THEN I went to FAQ Article 46 on
the web link I was given. I tried to follow directions
there, but ran into the following problems:
1. This was not an upgrade, this was a clean install.
2. In Tools/Customize/Toolbars There is no Analysis check
box.
3. COM-Addins contains no items. I tried to add an item
with the .DLL for PERT Analysis, but the application
doesn't recognize it. IE I choose the .DLL and double
click, it goes back to the COM-ADDINS window and there are
still no choices.
4. I got rid of the old GLOBAL.MPT files and restarted
the program. The new verson of the GLOBAL.MPT still did
not contain the analysis choices, therefore I cannot
import them using the organizer.
5. I unistalled Project and reinstalled Project, and now
even with the administrator account, I do not have
PERTAnalysis avaiable as a tool bar choice and now the PDF
Maker toolbar that was available is gone.
That about sums it up.
Thanks!
