PFbackup.exe - Installation source not available

PC running on XP Professional + Office 2007 = running smoothly. Upgraded from
Office 2003, on which the PFBackup worked very smoothly. After upgrade to
2007 downloaded PFBackup.ex and wanted to run it. Got the message: "The
installation source for this product is not available. Verify that the source
exists and that you can access it." It is my personal PC, so I think to have
all rights for my profile. Any idea why this program doesn't even go beyond
start?

Possible the downloaded file is corrupt. Go back to the download site and
download again. Make sure it is the pfbackup.exe file and not the compressed
..ex file. I assume that was a typo in your post. Instructions here:

Indeed a typo Mary. Followed your link in IE7 to exactly the same spot where
I had previously downloaded the pfbackup.exe file. Downloaded and ran it, it
all went fine, but all ended up with the same message. I have the feeling
that somehow there is something which I need to reset in my profile(?) to
make this work. No clue whatsoever.

You may need to run the .msi file for this - try expanding the zip file to
find the .msi file to run. See this article (it applies to all versions of
OUtlook):

Regret, but "thanks, no cigar!". Used the extract utility (right-mouse click)
to get a wonderful "launcher"and "pfbackup.exe" file but couldn't extract
either of them to get to any .msi file. Probably showing my beginner-status,
but still. Double-clicked on both of the extracted files and ended up with
the same message of "installation source not there". Went into my old back-up
files and picked up the old version of the back-up exe, which had worked so
smoothly with my Office 2003, and also there couldn't get anything to go.
Very frustrating.
