Hi Harrison,
From your post, I understand you concern is that the key board doesn't work
well in Outlook 2003 application. This issue cannot be reproduced in other
application and will not persist after reopening Outlook 2003.
Based on my research, I suggest we first test the following steps for this
issue:
Step 1: Start Outlook in Safe Mode
----------------------
Please run Outlook in Safe Mode to bypass any Add-Ins:
- Close Outlook.
- Click Start-->Run, type "Outlook /Safe" (Quotation marks are not included
and there is a space between Outlook and /safe) and press Enter.
If the problem does not occur at this time, then please select Tools ->
Options -> Other -> Advanced Options -> Add-In Manager and then clear all
the checkboxes, add one check back each time to the list of Add-In, restart
Outlook, and repeat the above procedure. Once the issue reappears again, we
can determine which add-in causes this problem and then disable it.
If the issue persists, I suggest we new a test profile to test the issue
again.
Step 2: Create a new Outlook profile
----------------------
I suspect the current profile of Outlook has been corrupted. Please perform
the following steps to create a new profile:
1. Close Outlook.
2. Click Start menu-> Control Panel. If Control Panel is not in Classic
View, click Switch to Classic View on the upper left of the window. And
then double-click the Mail icon.
3. Click Show Profiles and then click Add. In the New Profile dialog box,
type a descriptive name for the new profile in the Profile Name box, and
then click OK.
4. In the E-mail Accounts dialog box, click "Add a new e-mail account", and
then click Next.
5. Select the appropriate server type for your e-mail account, and then
click Next.
6. Fill in the appropriate information as prompted, and then click Next and
Finish as needed.
7. Click the "Prompt for a profile to be used" option and click OK. This
way, you will be prompted for a profile when starting Outlook.
8. Restart Outlook and select the new profile.
If the problem does not exist in the new profile, you can refer to the
import and export section in following Microsoft Knowledge Base article to
import the data into new profile.

Hope the information helps. If you have any other concern on this issue,
please feel free to let me know.
Expect your reply and have a good day!

Hello:
I have been having a problem in my Outlook 2003 SP2 which I can not seem to
find the cause. Every now and then certain keys on my keyboard seem to be
highjacked by another process. If I hit the letter "H" I get a virtual
keyboard pop up. Other keys like the letter "T" just don't work. The keys
work in my other programs just not in Outlook. If I close and reopen
Outlook everything returns to normal for a while then the keyboard gets
highjacked a little later.
Anyone have any suggestions? I have not found anything on Google for this.
