Phantom sentences

D

David Grossman

I have been using the most recent version of Word on my Mac for almost 2
years and I have noticed that these odd lines show up on my document. The
best way to explain what this looks like is to look at the above sentence
and imagine it is horizontally cut in half. That halved portion of the
sentence is below the actual sentence (that looks fine). I usually click
before the phantom sentence, hit delete once and the mysterious "half
sentence" disappears.

I am not sure if this makes sense, but I do not know what to call it and I
do not know how to fix it. I have reinstalled the software several times and
this does nothing. I am pretty sure I have installed all of the most recent
updates to Office as well. Any ideas?

This usually reflects a video driver that is struggling to cope with Word's
complexity and can't refresh fast enough. Try updating the driver.
