Phantom spelling errors

Using Word 2010 I get words underlined in green indicating spelling/grammar
problems. When I right-click on them to see the reason why sometimes there
is no error and the underlining disappears without me taking any action.
This is not just when I have been editing the word in question, or near it,
but it could be any time including having just loaded the document when it
was saved with no such underlining. What is going on?

That article addresses spelling only, whereas the green underline signals
"grammar" or "style" errors. I don't check grammar, but I do often see
phantom spelling errors (though usually while editing). They're usually
inexplicable, but I think these fall into the category of unexplainable
mysteries it's not worth wasting time or effort to worry about.

I don't make use of grammar check either, neither in Swedish nor in English.

Frankly I tend to think of grammar check and spell check as one and the
same, even though I only make use of the latter.
