Phone Number Formatting

I am using Outlook 2003. Is there any way to inhibit the
automatic formatting of phone numbers to (999) 999-9999? I
prefer the 999-999-9999 format.

Is there a way to have contact names listed in last, first
middle order in the Select Names list when sending an
email?

Is it still true that the only way to prevent fax listings
from appearing on the Select Names list is to precede the
fax number with alpha characters such as "Fax:"?

Thnaks in advance.

1. Masking of phone numbers is hard coded and cannot be change.
2. Go to Tools > E-mail accounts > View or change existing directories or
address books > Outlook Address Book > Change. > Set your sort order there
3. The standard behavior for the Outlook Address book has not changed and
continues to display all electronic addresses (both fax and e-mail). That
behavior cannot be changed. The only way to prevent the display of fax
numbers is to store them in a different field or to disguise them (e.g.,
precede them with an alpha character) so that Outlook won't recognize them
as phone numbers.
There are also a number of utilities available that can do this for you
automatically. Some are listed here:
