Phone Number Formatting

I use outlook with exchange server along with a windows mobile 2003 SE cell
phone with bluetooth on the phone.

I have a new car that has can import names and phone numbers via bluetooth.

When trying to synchronize the windows mobile phone (which is itself
connected to exchange server.... the names transfer over just fine, but
because outlook puts parens around an area code (512), the car gets confused
and only shows vertical bars.

For some reason I have some contacts with phone numbers that are like 412
555-5555 and the rest (95%) that look like (412) 555-5555.

I want to change the format of the contact phone numbers, at least
temporarily to NOT use parens so I can get my contacts into the car but for
the life of me I can't find a way to do it. It's strange that some of the
numbers in my contacts don't have the parens, and I don't know why, but I
really need a working solution....

Can anyone please help..... There has to be a way to do this...

Thanks,

B

IThis is off-topic, but I found it interesting. Since cars are becoming
wireless, hackers are beginning to write viruses that can infect a car's
computer. _That's_ scary. Imagine your engine suddenly misbehaving at
highway speeds or the automatic four-wheel-drive directing most of the power
to the right-front wheel unexpectedly.
