phone #'s in contacts

When I try and enter a phone number in my contact, a
screen comes up and wants to set up the modem. It then
locks me up if I try and cancel. I do not even have a
modem in this PC. How do I get this to stop? I connect to
the internet through my company's network.

Go into the Control Panel > Phone & Modem options and see if you can set the
options directly there. Basically I think Outlook needs it setup so it
knows your home area code & such

I have the same problem and I cannot use the modem setup,
it gives the same message. The drop down for the region
is blank and the system loops when trying to exit. After
several times it does close but changes are not always
saved. Any help would be appreciated.
